Ground mounted solar panel support structures

If there is no roof surface with a suitable orientation or load-bearing capacity, you can consider installing the solar system on the ground.

Advantages of ground installation

  • larger solar systems can be built
  • the ageing of the roof structure does not affect the lifetime of the supporting structure
  • easier to maintain
  • easier to expand

This should be taken into account in the design:

  • orientation: the same rules apply to the orientation of ground-mounted solar panels as for roof-mounted systems, i.e. they should preferably be oriented to the south and the ideal tilt angle should be 25-35 degrees
  • shading: the support structure of the solar panels must be designed and positioned in such a way that, once installed, the solar panels do not cast shadows, i.e. the growth of surrounding vegetation must be taken into account and care must be taken to ensure that the panels do not cast shadows on each other
  • the load: the supporting structure of ground-mounted solar panels must be designed to withstand the most common snow and wind loads. An inadequately designed system can suffer serious damage in extreme weather conditions. For greater load-bearing capacity, great emphasis should also be placed on the foundation, and systems can be anchored using piles, ground screws, soil nails or bolted to heavy concrete blocks.

Ground mounted support structure in our range

Constructed from thin, open, galvanised steel plates, they can provide stability as well as increased efficiency.

The system is sized according to the Eurocode standard.

The support structures are assembled as a set of tables in a package. The smallest table can accommodate 2×3 solar panels, while the largest table can accommodate 2×32 panels.

As the system is customisable, it can accommodate solar panels of any size. The modules can be mounted in 2 rows for upright installation, 3 or 4 rows for horizontal installation (depending on the type of module).

Selectable tilt angle

The tilt angle of the tables can be easily changed by replacing the supports for optimum system performance, and can be 25, 30 or 35 degrees.

Optional attachment

Taking into account the conditions of the installation site, the ground-mounted solar panel support structure can be designed with several anchoring methods:

  • with ground screw
  • with ground peg
  • on a prefabricated concrete base

Quick assembly, easy packaging

Built from lightweight components, the systems are ready to be packed in lightweight packaging and can be moved by forklift.

The delivery unit packages contain all the components required for installation, including screws, anchoring system components, solar panel clamps and cable clamps.

Features of the structure:

  • Safe to use up to 10% terrain slope
  • corrosion resistance
  • few components, simple design, lightweight components
  • quick and easy installation, without special tools, machines or expertise
  • products are CE marked and manufactured under a certified factory inspection system
  • home installation of soil screws can be easily done with simple tools
  • a reliable structure, resistant to the effects of weather
  • unit packing, which contains all screws and mechanical parts
